Painted by Lark Pilinsky in late 2024, this work based on an artistic meditation reflects her premonition of the Los Angeles fires months before they occurred in January 2025. Her disturbing vision of fiery destruction is captured in this magnificent and shocking painting.
Description
Lark’s artistic meditations have often led to mysterious and otherworldly premonitions about future events to come. For example, in late 2024 she had a disturbing vision of fiery destruction in Southern California that she captured in this magnificent and shocking painting. Here we can see a powerful inferno, with its spiraling red wind funnel destroying everything in its path. The horror of the apocalyptic scene is emphasized in its depiction of leafless skeleton branches on the left echoing the flaming branches in the middle of the fire.
As she was painting this image, Lark also wrote the following poem:
Who will win?
The wind or the fire?
Until our lives expire…
Do we need to know why?
The questions to God, not answered…
A few months later, the worst wildfires in California history were visited upon the Los Angeles area.
