Description
In Abstract Autumn, Anush Babayan offers a poetic meditation on the Fall season. Veils of golden amber and rust intertwine with cooler tones, reflecting the interplay of lingering life and the coming winter. Here tree-like motifs emerge from beneath tangled marks and a fractured, almost map-like surface adding to the contemplative mood of the painting.
In the composition, two small angelic figures are also depicted, reflecting the artist’s pleasant and mystical thoughts on the Autumn season: “Fall is also a wonderful time of the year. It is the most beautiful season in Armenia! We call it Golden Autumn, because everything is covered in gold. The sun is shining all around, the air is fresh but not cold, the leaves are yellow, red, burgundy, crimson…and everything under the rays of the sun gives off a golden glow.”
