In this work a white lucent angel looms over two lighter, more diaphanous forms with outspread wings. Here Anush’s dramatic use of light and color evokes a sense of awe and intense spiritual awareness for the viewer of the painting. Blue and purple hues symbolize tranquility, wisdom and a connection to higher realms. The contrast between light and dark meanwhile emphasizes both the transformation and struggle that are part of everyone’s inner journey toward their spiritual self.
