Lark’s paintings invite us inside her world and encourage us (as we contemplate them) to formulate our own interpretations. In this large, dynamic work an iconic round “portal” powerfully draws the viewer away from the everyday world into a spiritual realm, urging us to cross over into a kind of enlightened state. Lark believes the portals and the natural surroundings she portrays provide energy, inspiration and healing when one is experiencing physical or emotional pain.

“Treaures of life abound everywhere,” Lark said. “We just have to open our hearts and mind to see and enjoy them, and sometimes they are happily ensconced within us.”
