Deer

As it is only animal capable of finding the sacred lingzhi fungus of immortality it is the Chinese symbol of longevity and prosperity and deers often accompany Shou Xing, the God of Longevity. The word deer is a homophone for a government official’s pay, so it is a wish to become a high official with a good salary. On the spiritual side, It is the symbol of the first sermon by the Buddha in the Deer Park in Benares.
