Export Ware

Although Chinese ceramics first made for export can be traced to the Tang dynasty, exporting large quantities overseas with government financial support began in the Song dynasty. The term Chinese export wares, includes a range of ceramic including porcelain made almost exclusively for Europe at first and later to North America from the 16th – 20th century.
