Jade Emperor

(玉皇) One of the most important Taoist deities married to the Celestial Queen Mother of he West, Xiwangmu (西王母), he is the supreme ruler of Heaven and the first emperor of China. As ruler of the domain of heaven, he reigns over a court of all important Chinese gods including Mazu and Guan Hu, as well as the Kitchen God who reports to him annually on Chinese New Year on the morality of each family and determines the family’s fate in the coming year. Actual historical emperors emulated his fairness, benevolence, and mercy.
