Pajegan

Topeng Pajegan is a 5-mask performance by a single dancer that takes place in a sacred outer temple courtyard where the dancer changes masks and costumes with the audience watching. Dancers are trained to expresses multiple personalities using a variety of dance styles, body movements and gestures. Stories presented are often taken from the two Hindu Indian epics the Ramayana the Mahabharata and from histories of Hindu-Balinese kings called Babad Dalem.
