Sahel
The Sahel is a semiarid region of western and north-central Africa that is a transitional zone between the arid Sahara (desert) to the north and the belt of humid savannas to the south and includes 10 countries: Burkina Faso, Chad, Eritrea, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, and Sudan. This dry region is inhabited by nomadic peoples including the Fulani and Tuareg people.
