Description

Made in the rural areas of Rajasthan, India and heavily used over a long period of time, this nicely crafted and forged iron folk-art pot was made for multiple functional-and-utilitarian purposes. Its wide handle allowed scooping water from a river and also to carry a rather heavy load. In addition, the hook attached to the handle made it work easily with a well’s rope pulley system. Some suggest that the handle and hook also allowed it to be hung over a fire for boiling water and cooking food. Hand forged Indian-Folk-Art metalwork pieces and texture add warmth to any room, especially filled with dried reeds.
