Barry Brinker 18″ Silver Necklace with Emeralds, Ancient Coins and Buddha Pendant (N67KEM) $725
$725.00
Description
Although this fine necklace is contemporary-jewelry, we consider it part of the VA Barry Brinker Vintage Collection with pieces made in the 1990s when his necklaces and other creations combined 950 silver with antiquities or antiques, unique artifacts, gemstones, rare natural pearls and other treasures acquired during his travels. With his unique training in architecture, design and fine art, his pieces are hand-made, one-of-a-kind, personally designed and constructed in his studio in Bali whose craftsmen follow his specific instructions. This necklace demonstrates his brilliance in combining disparate items with silver: ancient black Roman coins, gemstones and an embellished terracotta Buddha pendant. The four gemstones inset in flat silver backings are Sri Lankan cabochon emeralds. Gems that are cut as cabochons are simple dome shapes that often have a flat bottom. This more unique emerald cut is used for its simplicity and color purity. The Thai ceramic pendant covered with gold leaf and small multicolor glass beads portrays the Vairocana-Buddha, the personification of Wisdom and this necklace is also part of the VA Spiritual-and-Inspirational Collection of Buddhist-Art and Spiritual-Jewelry. The rolo style silver chain of oval and round links is princess length (18″), a versatile size that can be used with any type of attire, and it has a hook closure with the Barry Brinker (BB) signature flame shaped tag as part of the clasp.
