Barry Brinker Necklace, Emeralds, Ancient Coins, Pendant (N67)

Description

This necklace is part of the VA Brinker Vintage Collection acquired by VA in the early 2000’s. These pieces were designed by Mr. Brinker using 950 grade German silver with objects such as antiquities, antiques, unique artifacts, gemstones, natural pearls and coins to blend contemporary tastes with treasures acquired during his travels. Using his unique training in architecture, design and fine art, the one-of-a-kind pieces he designed were made in his studio in Bali, Indonesia by expert artisans following his specific instructions.

This necklace demonstrates his brilliance in combining disparate items with silver: ancient black Roman coins, gemstones and an embellished terracotta Buddha pendant. The four gemstones inset in flat silver backings are Sri Lankan cabochon emeralds which are simple dome shapes with a flat bottom. This more unique emerald cut is used for its simplicity and color purity. The Thai ceramic pendant covered with gold leaf and small multicolor glass beads portrays the Vairocana Buddha, the personification of Wisdom. The back of the pendant is a portrait of Buddhist monk .

The rolo style silver chain of oval and round links is princess length (18″), a versatile size that can be used with any type of attire, and it has a hook closure with the Barry Brinker (BB) signature flame shaped tag as part of the clasp.

Barry Brinker’s one-of-a-kind creations are singular works of art. His unique VA collection pieces are only available on our site, although his contemporary pieces are sold in select establishments such as Neiman Marcus.
