Barry Brinker Silver Necklace Vintage Latvian Coin, French Fittings (N371)

Description

This necklace is part of the VA Brinker Vintage Collection acquired by VA in the early 2000’s. These pieces were designed by Mr. Brinker using 950 grade German silver with objects such as antiquities, antiques, unique artifacts, gemstones, natural pearls and coins to blend contemporary tastes with treasures acquired during his travels. Using his unique training in architecture, design and fine art, the one-of-a-kind pieces he designed were made in his studio in Bali, Indonesia by expert artisans following his specific instructions.

The pendant is a 1920 vintage Latvian coin initially issued in 1920 by the short lived Republic of Latvia and reissued from 1929-1932 each with the issue date on the reverse side. The back of the coin has a Latvian coat of arms under 3 five-pointed stars symbolizing the 3 territories into which Latvia was divided in Czarist times. The Latin script translates as “The Republic of Latvia.”It is set with old French fittings above and a vintage silver oval with flat spheres dangling below.

As many of his necklaces, the rolo style silver chain of oval and round links is 21,” a versatile size that can be used with any type of attire. Hook closure clasp has  Barry Brinker (BB) signature flame shaped tag. This necklace is in excellent condition with a soft patina that can be polished to a bright sheen. His one-of-a-kind creations are singular works of art. His unique VA collection pieces are only available on our site, although his contemporary pieces are sold in select establishments such as Neiman Marcus.
